Equipment Committee
Contacts: Karl Beck and Rachel Yardy at rbcequ@riversideboatclub.com.
Many factors play a role in equipment decisions. First and foremost we are concerned with putting our rowers in the highest quality racing shells that meet the needs of our club. Feedback from our rowers and coaches is an important portion of the decisions we make. As such we have established a separate Yahoo group to facilitate equipment related discussions. The group is open to all RBC members. To join the group, simply send an e-mail to: rbc-equipment-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. You can also e-mail feedback directly to Equipment Committee.
For new and potential RBC members below is a summary of our equipment:
Boats: As a competitive rowing club we have a fleet of world class racing shells. We provide boats for all programs sweeps and sculls, singles through eights.
Oars: The club owns 4 sets of Concept 2 vortex edge sweep oars and several sets of sculling oars for use by the membership. It is recommended that competitive scullers acquire their own set of blades.
Ergs: We maintain 16 Concept 2 rowing machines for use by members. Ergs are rotated every four years usually over the winter.
See "Equipment for Sale" for a list of boats, oars and ergs for sale.
We're always looking for help buying, maintaining and selling boats. If you're interested in getting involved please send us an e-mail!
