For college rowers who plan to spend their summer at Riverside we have ten open spaces.Selection will be
based off of erg scores (2k and 5k or 6k), college racing results, and a brief rowing bio.In general, the Men’s
Sweep Team is a fun group who train hard, aim to win, and plan to race fast.It is sure to be an exciting and
rewarding experience
In the summer we have several races but we focus on
competing at US Rowing Elite National Championships,
Independence Day Regatta in Philadelphia, PA, and Canadian
Henley in St. Catharines, Canada.During the fall, we race
most weekends from mid-September to end of October with
our major race being the Head of the Charles. We have
medaled in the Club 4+ Event every year since 2006, twice
taking home gold.Winter training consists of workouts on your
own time, and a lot of camaraderie!
We are coached Monday through Saturday mornings, and train un-coached in the afternoons.
Riverside’s Open Men’s Sweep Team is a group of young men, mostly recent college graduates, who want to
continue training and rowing at a competitive level.Primarily, we practice and race in sweep boats, while
occasionally in sculling boats
