SUMMER APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN

The Riverside Juniors program is a four-season program focused on sculling. We welcome high school athletes during the summer, fall, winter, and spring seasons. Coaches focus on improving the technical skills, physical fitness, and mental tactics of athletes. We are committed to building the abilities of all of our athletes with an emphasis on safety, fun, and team camaraderie.


Summer Update:

NOW ACCEPTING SUMMER APPLICATIONS!

The summer season will run June 16th to August 22nd. Athletes born between 2007 and 2011 are welcome to apply for Summer 2025. Acceptances will start being sent out as early as May 1st and applications close May 15th.

We will run two series of practices: priority and supplementary. Priority practices will be M-Th 4pm-6:30pm, Fri-Sat 10am-12:30pm. Supplementary practices will be M-Th 8:00am-10:30am. Athlete attendance is required at priority practices (barring illness, family emergency, etc.). Attendance at supplementary practices is highly encouraged. 

A valid passport, visa, or other government document must be acquired by June 16th for program acceptance. 

Our HEAD coach

Libby Lichter has been a Riverside member since July 2021. In their time, Libby has contributed to the club as treasurer of the women's sweeps team and as a member of the DEI committee. Prior to joining the coaching staff at RBC, Libby held positions at The Winsor School, Community Rowing Inc., Deerfield Academy, and the Wayland-Weston Rowing Association. While at Tufts University, they studied biology as well as child study and human development. When not on the water, Libby enjoys spending time in Deerfield, Ma with their dog, Sir Steven Redgrave.

  • Sweeps and Sculls: Providence, RI

    • June 29th

    • Athletes are responsible for their own travel

  • Cromwell Cup (1000m): Charles River, Boston, MA

    • July 20th

  • Royal Canadian Henley Regatta - Martindale Pond, St. Catherine's, ON

    • August 5th-10th: Team travel depart Cambridge August 3rd, return August 11th

*Regatta fees are not included in program fees and will be an additional charge determined at a later date before the start of the season.

March 24th to May 31st

  • Saratoga Invitational: April 26th - 27th.* Fish Creek, Saratoga, NY. *Anticipate April 25 PM departure

  • USRowing Northeast Regional Championships: May 17th - 18th. Merrimack River, Lowell, MA
    Scrimmages with local crews

  • Youth Nationals contingent upon qualification, June 12-15, Nathan Benderson Park, Sarasota, FL
