Riverside is thrilled for Team RBC to take on the 2027 Boston Marathon® on behalf of our club. Runners will train for this iconic race while raising critical funds in support of Riverside Boat Club.
Team RBC runners will represent Riverside on one of Boston's biggest stages, leading their own fundraising campaigns to rally their personal communities behind the Club in support of RBC.
Team RBC is officially set for the 2027 Boston Marathon!
This April, four runners will take on 26.2 miles in support of Riverside Boat Club as members of our first-ever Boston Marathon team. Together, they’ll train, fundraise, and represent the Stripes on the road to Marathon Monday.
Running for Riverside
Founded in 1869 on the banks of the Charles River, Riverside is a nonprofit rowing community with a long tradition of supporting athletes at every level—from recreational and local competitors to athletes competing on the national and international stage.
Through Team RBC, our Boston Marathon runners are raising critical funds to support Riverside and its future. Funds raised will help the club invest where support is needed most, including our athletes, programs, equipment, coaching, historic boathouse, and the community that has made Riverside a home for generations of rowers.
Questions about Team RBC may be directed to fundraising@riversideboatclub.com.
Team RBC is full for the 2027 Boston Marathon, and we are no longer accepting applications for invitational entries.

Frequently asked questions
How can I join the team?
Interested runners must submit an application during the recruitment period to run with Team RBC. The application period for 2027 has closed and team spots are now full. Please keep an eye on this page in fall of 2027 for the next application period.
If you have already secured entry to the 2027 Boston Marathon® through a qualifying time and are interested in supporting Riverside Boat Club as part of Team RBC, please contact us directly via fundraising@riversideboatclub.com to learn about opportunities to join the team.
How much of the fundraising commitment is my personal responsibility?
Each Team RBC runner is personally responsible for fulfilling the full $10,000 fundraising commitment. Funds may be raised through your personal and professional networks, employer matching gifts, individual fundraising efforts, and personal contributions. If your campaign does not reach $10,000 by the fundraising deadline, you will be responsible for contributing the remaining balance.
Riverside and the Fundraising Committee will celebrate and promote Team RBC and its runners through club communications; however, these channels may not be used to solicit Riverside members on behalf of an individual runner's campaign. Runners should plan to fulfill their commitment primarily through their own networks rather than through the Riverside membership.
Do I need marathon experience?
No! Many individuals take on their very first marathon by running on behalf of a nonprofit, including in the Boston Marathon®. Through Team RBC, runners gain access to training resources, group run opportunities, and guidance from an experienced and trusted marathon training coach to help prepare for Marathon Monday.
