Riverside's Centennial Year
On the eve of Riverside Boat Club’s 150th anniversary celebration, it is gratifying to recognize the distance the club has come in the last fifty years. Riverside was dangerously close to extinction in 1969. Frank Bane Jr. recalls that there were so few people around the boathouse at the time that he and his brothers invited friends and classmates to join them for summer evening rows.

Q&A with men's sweep coach Andy Sayles
Andy Sayles comes to Riverside most recently from upstream at Community Rowing, where he coaches the junior boys. He was also a summer member at Riverside with the men’s sweep team in 2011. Though he has been with the team since the spring, we have yet to formally issue his welcome interview. Welcome, Andy!

July US Rowing Trials
This month, Riverside High Performance Group athletes and independent scullers competed at the USRowing Senior Trials, with hopes of winning races and earning their spots on the US National team this summer. Ultimately, there were two winning crews wearing blue and white stripes: the Senior and U23 Men’s Lightweight Pairs.
